Who we are
Fishtank Learning provides teachers with the curriculum and resources they need to engage, challenge, and inspire their students. We designed our launch and ongoing professional development workshops to help teachers more deeply understand the curriculum so they can better support their students' learning. Through our workshops teachers unpack the guiding principles behind the curriculum design, examine the unit and lesson components, and develop strategies for internalizing and adapting the curriculum for their students.

This partner's approach and services
How we address equity
At Fishtank Learning we believe that all students deserve access to high-quality curriculum and that with the correct supports students can reach the goals set forth by rigorous, grade-level work. Our PL is designed to help educators remove barriers and support high quality learning for all students. In conjunction with the curriculum itself, we believe supporting teacher instructional preparation and decision making supports educators in delivering a more equitable and anti-racist learning experience for their students. Our PL experiences are designed with teachers in mind so that they get the support and skills they need for intellectual & instructional preparation.
How we build district capacity
Our team works closely with school leaders and in particular content instructional leaders to understand their needs prior to adopting our curriculum. Using that we help to provide a solid understanding of our curriculum and best practices and structures that support a robust and high quality implementation. For team adoptions consultation support is included to help school teams think through implementation strategically.
How we provide curriculum-aligned PL
Workshops
Our workshops are designed to provide teachers with the skills and knowledge to implement the Fishtank curriculum and adapt materials as necessary for their unique classrooms. Teachers walk away with a richer understanding of the structures in the curriculum and knowledge on how to use curricular materials and support students.
PLCs
We offer our launch professional learning as on-demand modules that can be used by teams with the guidance of instructional leaders to provide a more tailored experience. With this format we provide support to ILs to ensure they have the tools and resources to support this implementation at their pace.
Consultations
As schools implement our curriculum we know that it is not a one size fits all approach so we support school teams to provide guidance for implementation in their school setting. We provide guidance for leadership teams to ensure structures that support teacher learning and growth with the curriculum.
